Kristers Gudlevskis and the magic Olympic moment – Raw Charge

John Fontana kindly invited me to write a little something about an incredible shining moment for a goaltender I’d been watching closely for a while. Many thanks to Raw Charge, and hope you guys enjoy it.

  1. It was amazing!!! I always cheer for Canada in international tournaments and this Olympics is no different, but Kristers was just absolutely incredible out there. It was such a weird moment in a way, because and the Lightning scouts obviously saw something in Guds and decided to draft him, but Yzerman must have been grinding his teeth up there in the stands, thinking something in the line of: Shine any other time, kid. Just not right now. I saw he got an extra hug from Marty when they were shaking hands after the game as well.

I really felt for him when that Weber slapshot went in. I guess he just collapsed a bit towards the end. And who can blame him. The guy had faced about 50 shots before that one went in.

Wow…it was one of the great moments during this Olympics.
